Plenty of other fish in the sea... and fish-hooks... sharks... killer whales... boat nets... cuttlefish... maybe a sea monster or two... sounds grim, but the fish still outnumber the predators by a great deal... maybe you can settle for a manatee; they're very docile...

(Thank you "Neurotype" and "DomiSM" for whatever it is that resulted in this being a Daily Deviation; and yes, I did take the time to process all the comments, look at all the new watchers, and calculate all the favorites. Thank you all.)

I love the color choices, and of course, your linework. It's good to see some art from you again!

Ohh, congrats. Although it's a little odd out of all of your amazing pieces this is the one chosen? Not that it isn't visually excellent, but personally I've always really enjoyed your thoughtful commentary as well.

I imagine this happens to every artist -- bands become famous for a song they didn't care much about, actors become cult legends for movies they barely believed would be released, and painters sell old art they had almost forgotten existed for a huge sum of money. I wouldn't have picked this either out of my recent work, but I'm happy some who followed the DD link stayed to check out the rest of the gallery :)

It's true! And I am glad your work is getting more attention, for whatever reason. The more people that see it, the greater likelihood your art and its target audience will connect.

Same for you -- after looking through your gallery, I hope you receive far more attention for it. Some real talent you have there. Best of luck :)

I look through every gallery of each individual that adds me to their watch list. But I don't give critique unless I'm invited to do so (I came from a school of harsh criticism, and gained that habit). Either way -- it's very important to take a look at who my audience is.

And I would say your illustration and composition skills as of right now are above mine. So thank you.

Being mostly self taught and reclusive from the fine art community, getting a compliment like that is hard for me to digest... I respect and believe you, and don't think you'd lie to flatter me. But at the same time I still can't completely believe it... haha.

You are amazing to take the time. I try to look at my new watchers but I often get distracted or feel overwhelmed with the task. I guess that sounds bad? But somehow I've gotten a lot of attention lately and over the years have collected over 1,000 watchers.
I think I may have to get in the habit of looking through a few each day, though. I really like your example :)
