Artist's Comments

I can't remember the last time I've seen anyone act so foolish, so ignorantly, so vain, so...CHILDISH! To see it on a national level...

Seems like no one remembers how, after 9/11, we all vowed that we would not allow terrorists to frighten us. We promised we would not allow them to change us, or the way we lived. I remember how so many said they swore to not let terrorists scare us into taking actions we would never want to take otherwise.

...and yet, here we are.
I am so very disappointed in us.

I made this large enough to be reproduced on 11x17 sheets, please print and spread this around if you can/want/will - I think it's time we all learned some humility again.

It speaks something that most people don't get....You rule!

Excellent message. If I lived in the US, I would spread these around. Alas, I am north of the border, and it just wouldn't have the same effect. :P (Lick) Nonetheless, I hope this is seen by many.

I am beginning to genuinely worship you.
I couldn't agree more, and I definitely couldn't put it better, at least not so succinctly. The whole post-9-11 situation is sad, equally because of the loss of life and because of the loss of sense. And soon enough, the loss of sense is going to totally block out perception of the human tragedy and September 11th is going to become National Patridiot Day or something equally nauseating.
(This also makes me feel better that I'm still working on September 11th response pieces myself.)
Dang. I wish my printer worked, because I would ABSOLUTELY put copies of this up around campus. The last time I tried to print something, though (which was, coincidentally, a photo of the World Trade Center), it came out pink. Though I suppose that could make some weird reference to rose-tinted glasses?
Akh. I need to go to bed. Listening to Shostakovich at 2 AM and ranting about 9-11 makes my head do weird things. Like make deranged metaphors. I'll shut up now.

the image is bold, simple, and powerful. i love it.

yaaay you know I once herd a little voice that was my government teacher tell me that when things happened to scare americans it was always the minorities rights that went first... being the stupid highschool senior I WAS... I thought she was kidding. after 9-11 I remember the sweetest muslim boy was afraid to come to school because all the rich kids at my school wanted to beat him up. I felt so bad. Now I will forever have this little black ladys voice in my head warning me about minorities rights.

In short I so agree with what your saying in that peice of artwork. I think you should send it to bush and all the airports to tell them just how they are making sure that the terrorists win the war.

Jesus.

This image is SO powerful...If school wasn't out already, I'd be putting this up on walls there (and probably being suspended for exercising my ammendment rights of free speech and expression).

As another common-tater wrote...I'm starting to really worship your art.

Very, VERY nicely done.
