I know what you mean but if its not one thing then its another with alot of people. The one thing I've noticed is that someone is always going to hear what they want to and see the same. I agree with you though, there is hope I'd like to do all i can to make this a better place than just cry about it and quote statistics
I've already sat through Zeitgeist once. It is extremely incorrect. Many of the film's conclusions are based on false information.
While some of the aspects are true -- (IE: Christianity did borrow a lot of it's symbolism from other religions), the direct comparisons are false. Right from the start -- this film's claims about Egyptian myth is far from factual.
I would return your request, and ask you to please research the facts for yourself. The truth is no less illuminating, but it will show you that the blatant conclusions of that film are not so real.
If liberals wish to fight the good fight, they cannot base their opinions on ANY false information.
Arguments clouded by emotion don't become clearer by shouting them. Artistically, as far as your "USA all the way" piece goes, I would say it is a success. People are experiencing strong emotional reactions you are generating dialogue, and even a smidgen of actual thought. Your piece falls on the opposite end of the spectrum from someone who says "America, fuck yeah!" and really, really, really, reeealllllly means it. So statistically, if you actually believe that the US is no better than goosestepping sieg heilers, you would have to be discounted as an extreme outlier. Rabid self loathing is just as bad as unthinking patriotism. The best thing about this country is (cliche but soooo true) that the debate and evolution are never over. So keep it up. I don't agree with your point of view and I can't take it very seriously, but at least you have the courage to make a decision about what you believe (I'm talking about you, all you moderate cowards out there).
On an unrelated side note, I must say that the whole idea of "first amendment zones" and prepackaged preapproved questions in "townhall" meetings are complete BULLSHIT. In fact, I throw up in my mouth a little bit every time I see or hear about either one.
Don't worry -- I don't loath America, nor do I think it is anything like Nazi Germany.
But at the time this was made, the political attitude was of a mentality that concerned me. These days, people are reflecting. It seems the American public has more will to learn about our enemies and find common ground to end the violence -- far more than our current leaders.
And yeah... Democrats cooked up the 'free speech zones', Bush abused them. We'll have to force both parties to support legislation to better that situation.
if you agree send it to others.

If I use specifics, people attack the most minor of details -- and the end result is an argument that distracts from the main problem.
If I keep it general, it becomes a question for many people to reflect on -- and a trap for those who assume I'm saying something I'm not.

We're fighting a war to protect muzzies from other muzzies!
All innocents killed are collateral damage.
Fuck, if it was a war to wipe out Islam I'd mother fucking support it!
