I slowly got upset with certain flaws in the Uglybox-3: [link]

So, I took a hammer to it and rebuilt it into this new version. It has: 18 compartments, 2 of them hidden, 3 of them removable; fitted for one 18-inch ruler, large scissors, electric pencil sharpener, and manikin hand.; shoulder strap and carrying handle; spring loaded and spring locking hinges; 20 various latches.
Compared to the first version of Uglybox-3, this one is lighter, has more carrying space, and doesn't peel my nails back when I try to open it.

EDIT: these boxes cost well over $200 to make, and take a LONG time to piece together. I doubt I will ever be making these for sale - ever.

Là nel vasto mare devi incominciare!
Lì si comincia da ciò che è piccolo
E si gode d'ingoiare i piccolissimi;
Così si cresce, lenti, a poco a poco,
E ci si forma verso più alti compimenti.

Eeegads, man... that's a functional sculpture! I'd suggest entering it in a few open juried art shows and see what happens :D
What made you think of building the UB in the first place? And how do you remember where everything goes?

o.o ...

I would love to have something like that for my odds and ends. Part of why this one little sewing kit of mine caught my eye; it "blossoms" out, having the tools securely placed in each "petal". Comes in multiple colors (Mom had a gold and red one, mines gold and black).

But... this... it's beautiful!! I love it. So... brilliant!! :D
you know, you should market these to college kids, I sure as hell could use one for my supplies next year ;) it's brilliant. plus, I don't have to worry about people stealing anything because I'll be damned if even I can find anything in it.
