Maybe use something in there to show scale?

Yaay, an octopus! The most awesome animal ever!

You really did great with this! All the arms and suckers everywhere. Really captures the octopus's essence really well. I love how its arms curl like they do. So fantastic. And of course it comes complete with your trademark beautiful wrinkles.

I do not see how some people find octopus unattractive. They're such amazing creatures, what's not to like?

Did you intentionally make the water seen between the octopus's arms darker?

That's cool. You are good with illustrator. Did you do the sketches by hand or in the computer?

I am not very good with illustrator, but I think that the function "live trace" is very good. I uploaded an experiment i did the other day. If you have the time, would you like to take a look at it and say what you think I can do to improve it?

here it is anyway: [link]

Thanks for the help. I used a digital camera and darkened the pictures in photoshop. Then I put the picture in illustrator. But I think that ink must be much better, then you get the lines as you want them right away. I don't know if the quality of the picture matters that much if you are going to use live trace on it anyway.

...usually, the larger the image is, and the higher the resolution is -- the better the result.
