I love active sports. Mountain biking mostly. But I don't follow professional sports.

I've never understood it. I've never been able to sort out how some can burn their bodies down past fitness, way beyond, and into ruin -- all the while risking serious injury -- and all on a bet that their bodies will withstand the abuse long enough to secure their financial future.
...this, I've learned, also applies to ballet dancers.

I guess the love for whatever involved is worth the risk. Don't know if horses get much choice, but they still serve as a decent sports metaphors.

Check it out, horses don't have very stable legs until they are four years old. Most begin racing at age 2.
Horses are very important to me, so thank you for using one. Love your stuff, Manitou, even if I sometimes disagree.

I would run track until I couldn't anymore, just to enjoy it while I could. There's a racetrack in Queens in which, in a several-month-long meet, they killed six horses a day.

Beautiful composition and the rendering is fantastic, again.

Makes me think of the racehorse episode that Inside Nature's Giants did. They took a dead horse's leg and it put it under the pressure it would have while running, and then they cut the tendon and it just SNAPPED horribly. It was amazing.
