A consequence of the English language: confusing concepts of friends, family, lovers — with being ‘my friends’, ‘my family’, ‘my lover’. They are people, not in possession by us in any way. Loyalties define them, not ownership. Too many are getting that confused, as if they have a right to time, and worse, from others.
Ever seen a person struggle to break an individual’s delusion that they own others?
It’s messy, often violent, and can end very badly… I still find it beautiful; like never surrendering.
Anyway — what better symbol to artistically state this than a toy a child can own; that’s supposed to be about friendship; but is still called ‘MY little pony’. What a wonderful mindfuck for child and man-child alike.
